Boat Entry Guide

Five steps to the start line in Penghu

Penghu Regatta welcomes keelboats, multihulls and one-design fleets from Taiwan and abroad. Here is how to enter your boat.

01

Read the Notice of Race

Check eligibility, classes, schedule, safety requirements and entry fees in the 2027 Notice of Race.

02

Prepare your documents

Valid IRC certificate (for the IRC class), third-party liability insurance, crew list with emergency contacts, and safety equipment to the level required by the NOR. Longer island and round-Penghu races have previously required World Sailing OSR Category 3 equipment plus a life raft.

03

Register online

Complete the online entry form before the deadline stated in the NOR. Entry links will be published on this page and on the Official Notice Board when registration opens.

04

Pay the entry fee

Entry fees are set out in the NOR. For reference, the 2025 fee was NT$1,500 per person, including the regatta shirt and the regatta dinner, with separate boat fees for the challenge races.

05

Arrive and register in Magong

Complete on-site registration, safety inspection and the skippers’ briefing at Magong Yacht Marina before the first warning signal.

Sailing from outside Penghu or abroad

Many boats deliver to Penghu from Tainan (Anping) or other ports in Taiwan, a passage of about 100 nautical miles. Foreign-flagged yachts need a Penghu cruising permit and CIQS (customs, immigration, quarantine and security) clearance – contact the Regatta Office early so we can help.
