During the opening of the 13th Penghu Island Sailing Week Series on 28 June 2025, a plaque was unveiled recognising the Penghu Guanyinting Sailing Centre as a high-performance sailing centre approved by the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF).
It is the first such centre in Taiwan and the third in Asia, underlining Penghu's reputation for strong, reliable wind and its growing role in regional sailing.
